Emerald and diamond Art Deco French cluster ring, platinum mount

This superb Art Deco emerald and diamond cluster ring, with a square cut central Emerald surrounded by 8 Victorian cut diamonds, each set in pairs around the central emerald. This in turn is surrounded by a full row of calibre cut emeralds with a larger square cut emerald at 2,4,8 and 10. The larger square calibre gives that extra detail which helps to make this such an exquisite ring and typical of a ring made in the 1930s. All the settings are very fine millegrain.

There are very fine diamond set shoulders with 2 eight cut diamonds set neatly in to the shoulders. The ring is stamped with the French Mascaron mark for Platinum which was only used between 1913 and 1926

Fourteen brilliant cut diamonds surround the sapphire in a white gold millegrain setting and the ring is finished with three diamonds set down the shoulders meeting the yellow gold flat band shank. All mounted in 18ct gold with full struck hallmark inside the band including the commemorative Millennium Mark which could be used during 1999 and 2000. The central amethyst is a hexagonal cut and with a rich depth to the colour, this is held neatly in double white gold claws at each point. The amethyst is surrounded by modern brilliant cut diamonds, with the addition of the diamonds on the 6 points being slightly larger than the following 2 diamonds running alongside the edge of the amethyst. The entire setting for all of the stones is 18ct white gold and the shank of the ring is 18ct yellow gold. Amethyst = 2.06 carats 12 +6 diamonds = 0.42 carat Size: 14mm long x 12.5mm wide Finger size can easily be altered, if your size is not on the list below, please contact us as it may still be able to be made.The central diamond is surrounded by four diamond points set in very fine millegrain settings. To either side of the central diamond are well matched real pearls, both measuring 3.6mm in diameter. The D shape shank tapers from the pearls and inside the shank are Swedish hallmarks. The square cut Aquamarine, is a bright vibrant stone which we have had re-polished. It is held in a 4 claw platinum setting, with an open gallery to view the full depth of the stone. The shoulders are set with 3 x 8 cut diamonds on each side, this is very typical of a ring made circa 1950. The shank joins the setting with chenier tubing in the split. The shank is made from 18ct white gold. The ring is punched with C & F as the makers, a superb firm started in 1917 and we have dealt with them right through their existence until the closed in the early 2000's. The ring also is punched Pt & 18ct for the metal and then an individual number of 5967, this is all a sign of a quality maker.
