Emerald and diamond Art Deco French cluster ring, platinum mount

This superb Art Deco emerald and diamond cluster ring, with a square cut central Emerald surrounded by 8 Victorian cut diamonds, each set in pairs around the central emerald. This in turn is surrounded by a full row of calibre cut emeralds with a larger square cut emerald at 2,4,8 and 10. The larger square calibre gives that extra detail which helps to make this such an exquisite ring and typical of a ring made in the 1930s. All the settings are very fine millegrain.

There are very fine diamond set shoulders with 2 eight cut diamonds set neatly in to the shoulders. The ring is stamped with the French Mascaron mark for Platinum which was only used between 1913 and 1926

With 3 very well matched square cut central sapphires running up and down the finger, each set in their own individual millegrain settings. Surrounded by 18 eight cut diamonds, held in small grain claws and also a scalloped outer mount running around the curving shape of each diamond, making a very smooth finished ring. Offset with 2 further eight cut diamonds set in to each shoulder in a fine platinum millegrain settings. The ring has an 18ct yellow gold shank, with solid shoulders underneath the shoulder diamonds, and a beautiful pierced gallery setting, slim and low to the finger. The square cut Aquamarine, is a bright vibrant stone which we have had re-polished. It is held in a 4 claw platinum setting, with an open gallery to view the full depth of the stone. The shoulders are set with 3 x 8 cut diamonds on each side, this is very typical of a ring made circa 1950. The shank joins the setting with chenier tubing in the split. The shank is made from 18ct white gold. The ring is punched with C & F as the makers, a superb firm started in 1917 and we have dealt with them right through their existence until the closed in the early 2000's. The ring also is punched Pt & 18ct for the metal and then an individual number of 5967, this is all a sign of a quality maker.
