This is a lovely unusual shaped cut for a cluster ring. The central amethyst is a hexagonal cut and with a rich depth to the colour, this is held neatly in double white gold claws at each point. The amethyst is surrounded by modern brilliant cut diamonds, with the addition of the diamonds on the 6 points being slightly larger than the following 2 diamonds running alongside the edge of the amethyst. The entire setting for all of the stones is 18ct white gold and the shank of the ring is 18ct yellow gold.

Amethyst = 2.06 carats
12 +6 diamonds = 0.42 carat

Size: 14mm long x 12.5mm wide

The square cut Aquamarine, is a bright vibrant stone which we have had re-polished. It is held in a 4 claw platinum setting, with an open gallery to view the full depth of the stone. The shoulders are set with 3 x 8 cut diamonds on each side, this is very typical of a ring made circa 1950. The shank joins the setting with chenier tubing in the split. The shank is made from 18ct white gold. The ring is punched with C & F as the makers, a superb firm started in 1917 and we have dealt with them right through their existence until the closed in the early 2000's. The ring also is punched Pt & 18ct for the metal and then an individual number of 5967, this is all a sign of a quality maker. The red spinel itself is oval cut, bright with full of fire, it is held in place with 12 neat 18ct white gold claws. Surrounding this are 12 modern brilliant cut diamonds which are set in white gold claw settings. The shank is 18ct yellow gold. This is flanked with diamond set sides, unusually on all 4 of the long sides, and even more unusually is that 3 of them have 3 8 cut diamonds and the fourth side has 4 x 8 cut diamonds. The mounting is once again all individually made for this exact stone, with as low a profile as is possible given the size of this ring. The mounting is a combination of platinum for the settings and 18ct white gold for the shank. The ring will date to the 1930's and we have extensively re-polished the aquamarine by specialist stone polishers in London. The weight originally being 15.08cts and now weighing 13.70cts.
