It is a very neat ring with  D shape profile, low and close to the finger making it very comfortable to wear. The front of the ring at the broadest point measures 6.7mm tapering to 3.4mm at the back.

The square cut Aquamarine, is a bright vibrant stone which we have had re-polished. It is held in a 4 claw platinum setting, with an open gallery to view the full depth of the stone. The shoulders are set with 3 x 8 cut diamonds on each side, this is very typical of a ring made circa 1950. The shank joins the setting with chenier tubing in the split. The shank is made from 18ct white gold. The ring is punched with C & F as the makers, a superb firm started in 1917 and we have dealt with them right through their existence until the closed in the early 2000's. The ring also is punched Pt & 18ct for the metal and then an individual number of 5967, this is all a sign of a quality maker. The red spinel itself is oval cut, bright with full of fire, it is held in place with 12 neat 18ct white gold claws. Surrounding this are 12 modern brilliant cut diamonds which are set in white gold claw settings. The shank is 18ct yellow gold. This is flanked on either side with split sections each set with 2 modern brilliant cut diamonds in a grain setting, these are next to a run of three slightly smaller brilliant cut diamonds. The shank is a two row shank at the front that fades to a single shank towards the rear. The diamonds are extremely neatly set with a white gold underneath, this would have been particularly expensive to do and means the ring will have been handmade in its entirety. The maker of this ring was the renowned Deakin & Francis of Birmingham and Assayed in Birmingham in 1988 The Citrine has been re-polished by our lapidary in London and then very neatly set back in to the ring. Following the curvature of the ovals, the middle diamond is slightly smaller and the other two diamonds are much bigger to fill in the space between the aquamarines. All the mounting is surely made in platinum with a millegrain finish. The shank joins in a traditional split leaf and shoulder style finish.
