An impressive Sapphire and diamond open circle brooch, with sapphire and diamonds alternating in sets of threes all the way round. Each stone being held in place by their own three claw setting. The bright vibrant blues contrasing against the white modern brilliant cut diamonds. All mounted in platinum, which at the time of making would have most likely been a special one off order by the customer.
The brooch being secured in place with a rollover safety catch and once worn, the pin will not be seen.
The maker of this piece is Tom O’Donoghue who were makers of extremely fine quality jewellery, making one off pieces for high end London shops and Royalty. Any piece of jewellery bearing the TO’D stamp, is one of quality and excellence of a superior standard.

Supplied in Connards presentation case Second Hand | Ruby and diamond oval open "Circle" brooch, this beautifully attractive brooch, with four pairs of modern brilliant cut diamonds, each separated by 3 rubies in a classical oval shaped brooch. The diamonds each mounted in four claw 18ct white gold and the rubies in four claw 18ct yellow gold settings. Fitted with a traditional rollover safety catch on the pin fastening. Comes complete with a ring for a safety chain, which would be supplied and fitted without charge. 12 Rubies = 1.51 carats 8 Diamonds = 0.69 carat Measures 27mm x 22mm | This striking brooch has 2 clusters one set with blue zircons and a pink tourmaline and the other with garnets and a green tourmaline, these are set either side of 14ct yellow gold leaves with Akoya cultured pearls ends. The fouled anchor centre is assumed to be platinum surrounded by 15ct gold laurel leaves. On the reverse the pin fastens securely in a handmade rollover safety catch and '15CT' is clearly stamped at the bottom in the centre. The brooch would have been made before 1932, as that is when they stopped using 15ct gold. This was always reserved for the higher quality pieces.
