Indian Medical Service Regimental brooch 9ct gold and enamel

Indian Medical Service sweetheart brooch with a gold laurel wreath surrounding the latin Moto – “HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE” all enamelled in blue with gold serpent and staff in the centre. To the bottom “INDIAN MEDICAL SERVICE” in a blue enamelled ribbon and at the top a King’s crown in gold and red enamel. All made in 9ct yellow gold.
On the reverse the pin fastens with a handmade tiffany catch and clearly punched full hallmark. Handmade by Cropp & Farr in London established 1917

This sweetheart brooch with a diamond set laurel wreath above the top half of the Latin motto "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE". With the enamelled ROYAL ARMY SERVICE CORPS wording in blue enamel around the lower half. With the Kings Crown and King George VI insignia in the centre. All mounted in 14ct yellow gold and platinum settings for the Rose cut diamonds. This brooch would have been made between 1936 and 1952, and it is secured in place with a handmade Tiffany catch. It will have been made by the family company of J.W Barrett in Birmingham who specialised in making Regimental Brooches.
