This fan brooch was the result of Alabaster and Wilson having an original 1920s fan brooch in their workshop for repair, and their designer Rachel Byrne copied the original with the owners permission to create the brooch you see here.
The brooch is made of 18ct white gold with a sand blasted finish and with a mock bamboo handle. Set with pendeloque cut pink and yellow sapphires and scattered with modern brilliant cut diamonds. Secured with a handmade Tiffany catch.
The maker of this piece is Alabaster & Wilson who were makers of extremely fine quality jewellery, making one off pieces for high end London shops and Royalty. Any piece of jewellery bearing the A & W stamp, is one of quality and excellence of a superior standard.

Gemstones are: Blue Zircon, Garnet, Pink and Green Tourmaline, Measures 4.9cms wide x 3.5cms High Handmade in London by Cropp & Farr Established 1917 Second Hand | Indian Medical Service sweetheart brooch with a gold laurel wreath surrounding the latin Moto - "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE" all enamelled in blue with gold serpent and staff in the centre. To the bottom "INDIAN MEDICAL SERVICE" in a blue enamelled ribbon and at the top a King's crown in gold and red enamel. All made in 9ct yellow gold. On the reverse the pin fastens with a handmade tiffany catch and clearly punched full hallmark.
