This fan brooch was the result of Alabaster and Wilson having an original 1920s fan brooch in their workshop for repair, and their designer Rachel Byrne copied the original with the owners permission to create the brooch you see here.
The brooch is made of 18ct white gold with a sand blasted finish and with a mock bamboo handle. Set with pendeloque cut pink and yellow sapphires and scattered with modern brilliant cut diamonds. Secured with a handmade Tiffany catch.
The maker of this piece is Alabaster & Wilson who were makers of extremely fine quality jewellery, making one off pieces for high end London shops and Royalty. Any piece of jewellery bearing the A & W stamp, is one of quality and excellence of a superior standard.

Excellent condition of enamel and gold. The brooch is secured in place with a handmade Tiffany catch. Made by specialist Birmingham jewellers Alabaster and Wilson Length 3.3cm | Naval Cap sweetheart Regimental brooch in 15ct yellow gold with green and red enamelled Kings Crown. The fouled anchor centre is assumed to be platinum surrounded by 15ct gold laurel leaves. On the reverse the pin fastens securely in a handmade rollover safety catch and '15CT' is clearly stamped at the bottom in the centre. The brooch would have been made before 1932, as that is when they stopped using 15ct gold. This was always reserved for the higher quality pieces.
