The central pearls used are Japanese Akoya cultured pearls, with a bright lustre. These are surrounded by 8 brilliant cut diamonds and 8 sapphires in neat 18ct yellow gold claw settings. It is traditional posts and butterfly fittings that are used to secure the earrings.

The diamonds having an incredible brightness with them and being approx Colour G and VS clarity. 6 Diamonds = 1.02 carats Overall length 20.6mmm	The pair of butterflies in flight are made from 18ct yellow gold for the top and white gold for the lower butterfly. The lower butterfly being set with modern brilliant cut diamonds on the wings. These are made by Alabaster and Wilson of Birmingham Est 1887, makers of some of the finest quality pieces.
