Diamond five stone pea pod ring, made Birmingham 1889, 18ct gold mount
A fantastic example of a late 1800’s diamond five stone ring in superb condition. The fine quality ring is a credit to the previous owners who have clearly looked after this piece for it to be like this.
The Victorian cut diamonds are graduated in size and set inside a smooth “Pea pod” style setting, with scroll engraved shoulder details to start and end. The ring was made by Ginder Brothers and hallmarked for Birmingham 1889.
1 Diamond = 0.55ct approx.
2 Diamonds = 0.60ct approx.
2 Diamonds = 0.35ct approx.
Measures 20.5mm across the finger x 6.8mm wide

The 7 modern brilliant cut diamonds are all the same size and held in neat 4 claw settings which are low to the finger but from the side the setting looks like a "Zig-Zag", hence the modern style of setting. The shank of the ring is in all 18ct yellow gold and for durability the settings are made from platinum.
